Dear Members and Guests,
Hervey Bay Chamber Breakfast – Wednesday 24 November, 2010
at 6.45am for a 7.00am start at the Boat Club, Buccaneer Drive Urangan
NOVEMBER BREAKFAST SPECIAL
2 FOR THE PRICE OF 1
This month the Chamber has the unique opportunity to be able to offer two presentations for the price of one with both presentations focussing on the future development of our great region.
1. UDIA BRIEFING ON THE WIDE BAY BURNETT REGIONAL PLAN
Now is the time for you to have your say. The State Government has outlined its’ plans for the development of the Fraser Coast over the next 20 years and is calling for submissions on how this plan will impact on you. We are talking about a plan that will impact on how you live and how you do business for the next 20 years and it is essential that you understand what it means.
To help us understand what it all means the Chamber has asked the local branch of the UDIA to provide us with a comprehensive briefing on how the plan will impact on life in Hervey Bay.
2. PETER CHAPMAN, EDITOR OF THE CHRONICLE ON THE FORESHORE DEBATE
We have all seen the recent media debate about cleaning up the foreshore and have asked Peter Chapman, the editor for the Fraser Coast Chronicle to talk to the Chamber and tell us about the feedback he received as a result of the survey and what he thinks the next step is.

CENTRELINK EXPO FREE FOR EMPLOYERS AND PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYEES
A message from Centrelink
I would like to take this opportunity to extend an invitation for your company to attend an upcoming Centrelink Jobs and Skills Expo. The event is 100% free and details about the Expo can be found below.
Centrelink is holding a series of Expos across Australia as part of the Australian Government’s Nation Building Economic Stimulus Plan. The Centrelink Jobs and Skills Expos support the ‘Keep Australia Working’ initiative, an Australia wide federal government strategy supporting Australian jobs and industry.
The Centrelink Jobs and Skills Expo is intended to provide a vehicle for employers, industry groups, recruitment and training providers, and other key stakeholders, to participate in a local community event that provides people with access to job vacancies, information about options that enhance employability, training opportunities, as well as information about other related local support services.
This will be a great opportunity for employers to promote and effectively fill job vacancies for all job types – a real ‘Jobs Marketplace’.
The event will be extensively publicised, and all local job seekers will be issued with a personal invitation to attend. Centrelink is working with the Local News to maximise public awareness of the Keep Australia Working Jobs and Skills Expos. Sales representatives of local news may contact you to offer advertising space in a special Jobs Expo supplement which Centrelink will be supplying with editorial information about the expo. It is important to note that you are under no obligation to purchase advertising in this supplement.
To date Centrelink has coordinated 30 Expos around Australia with over 130,000 Job Seekers and well over 2000 Exhibitors attending.
The schedule for southern Queensland is:

I WANT TO BE A MILLIONAIRE VIA THE INTERNET FREE EVENT
INTERNET MILLIONS FOR YOU TOO
My name is Brett McFall, you’ve probably never heard of me before and quite frankly, that’s OK with me.
I’ve never been featured in the BRW Rich 200 (nor do I want to), hardly ever wear a suit and a tie (shorts, thongs and t-shirt is my dress-code). I don’t drive a Ferrari (although my Mercedes CLK is pretty nice).. I don’t have commercial premises with staff running around all over the place (home is where my heart is).
In fact, if you walked past me in the street you wouldn’t look twice, and you certainly wouldn’t say to yourself, “There goes a guy who makes thousands of dollars online and most of it whilst he’s asleep…” …and yet, that’s exactly what I do and the reason why I think you should listen to me right now.
I’ve discovered what I believe is the best model to make consistent cash flow and have been using it personally myself for the last 5 years.
But before I tell you about how you can do as I do, I’d like to tell you a little bit about why I think you should listen to me.
- I’ve written a #1 Best-Seller business book called, funnily enough, “How to Make Money While You Sleep”
- I’ve been featured on several current affairs TV shows.
- I make a consistent big 6-figure income year-in, year-out.
- I do this from my water-front mansion in Queensland.
- I have no staff, little overhead, zero stock and a pretty lazy lifestyle.
- I have clients in 49 countries around the world.
- I’ve taught my system and strategy to over 10,000 people around the globe.
- …and I’ve been paid up to $25,000 to mentor students on exactly how they too can make money while they sleep.

Wade James – Wade is the 40 year old founder of the Rush Surf Retail Chain. Rush originally started in Bundaberg with one store and Wade has built this up to 36 stores spread throughout Queensland and into New South Wales and the Northern Territory. Recently Rush entered into a conditional agreement with listed surf retailer Billabong International Ltd for Billabong to purchase Rush’s chain of stores. Wade will outline his experiences in building up the chain and talk about retailing in a regional context in the current economy
Craig Manley – One of the disciples of the big red clown. Craig graduated from University of Queensland in 1988 with a Bachelor of Commerce. He did three years in the finance industry as a credit analyst with Westpac before deciding to take his career in a different direction. In 1991 Craig applied to McDonalds to become a store owner. He bought his first McDonalds store, Eagle St Pier in Brisbane, in 1992 and then Albion in 1996. He moved to Bundaberg in 1999 and currently owns four McDonalds franchises spread across Bundaberg, Hervey Bay and Gympie.
Adrian Hewton – Hervey Bay’s very own Flash Harry. Adrian has extensive business history in both South Australia and the Northern Territory before moving to Hervey Bay and purchasing Flash Harry’s. He has opened stores in Bundaberg and Maryborough and is refining his importing operations.
