MAXIMUM PARKING SIGNS FOR MARYBOROUGH A GREAT STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

July 29th, 2015

COUNCILLOR James Hansen has called on the council to admit their timed parking changes in Maryborough were wrong.

New four-hour signs were erected earlier this year in the CBD including Kent, Richmond and Wharf Sts, in areas which used to be all-day parking, drawing the ire of some drivers.

Wednesday’s debate between councillors came after rural Cr Hansen called for a review into the parking changes, with a report to be provided on October 21.

“It’s time to admit it was a wrong decision and move on,” he said.

Mayor Gerard O’Connell said the council was always going to do a review.

“It’s not about a right and wrong, it’s about getting an outcome that’s best,” he said.

Cr Hansen’s call for a report was rejected by seven votes to four.

Maryborough councillor Daniel Sanderson followed with a motion of his own, calling for a review to begin in October.

Cr Sanderson’s motion was passed 6-4 and the council will do a review into the Maryborough parking strategy in October.

BEST THING TO HAVE HAPPENED TO HAVE A MAXIMUM PARKING TIME.
You cannot have people parking in the main city street all day including business owners & workers.

Shoppers go into the city, do their business over an hour or two & leave. Parking must be available to the shoppers not to shop workers in town.

All day parkers can park on the shop property or just outside of the CBD if they want to park all day.

The complainers about max times for central city parking need to get out from under their rocks & realize the new parking initiative will help revitalize the city centre.

A vacant lot in the city where a multi-level carpark can be built by council or a developer for all day parkers, but they pay for it just like in any other city centre…

MOTOWORX MOTORCYCLES REFUSES TO REMEDY A SERIOUS PROBLEM SAID BY THE CUSTOMER THAT MOTOWORX MARYBOROUGH CAUSED

October 17th, 2014

Woman takes in a quad bike to get some work done on it for her 5year old boy.

Budget set & works to be done agreed to by parties

bad business motoworx motorcycles maryborough Qld. image www.fcci.com (9)

These were the only works required to be done on the quad bike as all else was in good working order.

This was done on the 7th August 2014 & the bike was delivered to the motoworx shed for the necessary repairs.

The bike was in good condition with the tyres blackened & steering with wheels in good working order.

Earlier photos & witnesses will testify & vouch for that fact on the day of delivery to the motoworx motorcycle Maryborough workshop.

The repairs were allegedly carried out within several days as claimed by the bike repair motoworx business in Maryborough.

SQUARE

The woman was notified that the job was completed, in working good order & ready for pick up.

A few weeks later Wednesday 15th Oct 2014 she arrived at the motoworx bike business n Maryborough to pay the $136 & pick up the bike.

The quad bike was bundled into the back boot of a falcon without being given a demonstration of its working

nor was it asked for by the lady as she trusts that when a repair person says it has been fixed then she believes them.

However when the bike is taken back for the child to use, the father who is a diesel mechanic noted it did not start &

that the wheels were all covered with red mud, the front wheels were well out of alignment, the frame was bent & the steering bar was loose

and not functioning. The woman immediately rang the offending motoworx motorcycle business in Maryborough to complain.

She was told that a Dale fellow was not there & that she needs to talk to him & he will ring her tomorrow [Thursday]

He never rang nor did the owner of the business who’s name is John. John was sent an email on Wednesday night [the bike pick-up day]

outlining the details of the complaint. He also did not contact the lady who told him via the email that she will be bringing

back the quad bike on Friday 17th Oct 2014 to have the repairs carried out properly & the further damage repaired.

On arriving at the premises to drop off the bike for the correct repairs she was greeted by John the owner at the front of the premises.

The woman calmly outlined the position & requested that the repairs be carried out & that she would leave the bike there for that purpose.

At sometime between the alleged repairs to the bike by the workshop & the pick up by the woman of the bike,

it appears that some member of the staff at Motoworx motorcycles Maryborough has thrashed the bike & wrecked it.

The response by John the owner of the motoworx motorcycle business in Maryborough, said that the bike was just hand pushed

around the front of his premises until it was picked up. He claims the red mud on the bike was from that action..??

There is no red mud at the front of his premises only concrete, blue metal gravel. His story is obviously a concoction.

He would not fix the bike & began to  abusive when the lady insisted that he does the right thing & honour his warranty

and investigate what happened. It would be strongly suggested that because he did not ask his staff what happened

that implicates his prior knowledge of what went down. He made no attempt to check if the bike would start ,became abusive & defensive

& did not take any serious interest in remedying the problem. He was more concerned about the BAS tax payment he had to make of $9,000

& that he was not going to be f……d up the a……. with this bike  problem & he was quite vocal about his ex wife ripping him off etc.

It would have a minor issue to fix the problem he caused to avoiding further dramas & somehow saving face for this major cockup

caused by either himself or his staff. It appears his term in the business is to be short lived as he takes little interest in correcting wrongs.

They took the woman’s money, repairs did not work & further extensive damage caused to the bike whilst in their care.

The demise of this business is undoubtedly imminent given his response. We will say GOODBYE now to Mr ‘John’.

The quad bike was immediately taken to  another reputable repairer the same day Friday 17th Oct 2014 to get a detailed report & quote to repair

the damages alleged caused by & ineffective repairs done by Motoworx Motorcycles Maryborough.

The lack of concern by the owner of MMM for the lady & her dissapointed crying 5year old son was pitiful to behold.

We certainly do not need or want this type of approach by any businesses in the Fraser Coast Region & some wonder why they are doing it tough.
