Tiaro Coal enters administration

Tiaro Coal has entered voluntary administration.

The miner has four major projects, all of which are located in Queensland, as well as another located in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.

It has appointed Martin Madden, David Winterbottom, and Rahul Goyal of KordaMentha as its administrators.

It comes after the company commenced legal proceedings against Hudson Resources in an attempt to seek the return of its books and records, after administrative services Hudson were providing ceased last year.

According to Hudson it was retaining the books as Tiaro owed money for services rendered.

USQ Fraser Coast Business Barometer Survey

The following USQ Fraser Coast Business Barometer survey is the result of collaboration between USQ, Fraser Coast Council, and local Chambers of Commerce.  The goal is to try and gauge the level of business confidence in this region, and the issues most concerning local businesses.  It is the chance for you to have your voice heard amongst the various communities that support and regulate businesses.

We would greatly appreciate your time in giving us your insight into the most pressing business issues facing you right now.  With the Federal election on the horizon, it is also a great opportunity for you to provide feed back through the survey your thoughts regarding the issues the political parties should be tackling.

This is the first USQ Fraser Coast Business Barometer survey to be issued, and follow up surveys are planned to be released every six months.  Your assistance with completing it is very much appreciated, but is completely voluntary.  It is intended to be completed by senior business managers/owners within the Fraser Coast region.  The survey should take between five and ten minutes of your time to complete, and is completely anonymous.  Further instructions and information are contained within the survey itself.  If you have already answered this survey, then please ignore and delete this message.

This month we’re meeting at Fraser Coast Anglican College (FCAC).

Last Month’s sponsors are sorry that the event had to be cancelled due to events beyond their control and are looking at the possibility of sponsoring another event in the future. Look forward to that one. It is going to be an interesting year. Our calendar is filling so if you are interested in becoming an event sponsor or co-sponsor or venue sponsor please let us know as soon as possible so we can secure your event. Our events are as popular as ever with strong numbers attending each event. However, if you have an idea on how we can improve the evenings please feel free to let us know – either by email from the homepage or let us now on the night.

You can also help to spread the word about Business Hervey Bay and what we do: pass on the alerts to people in your address book – especially new businesses in the Bay.

I am constantly and pleasantly surprised by the number of new businesses that I announce at each event.

Fostering a strong sense of community, while providing a social atmosphere for business people to mix and mingle is the primary aim of Business Hervey Bay
