Channel Ten’s The Project will be featuring stories highlighting the Fraser Coast tourism industry after a reporter meets operators across the region for one-on-one interviews on Thursday and Friday.

Tourism Fraser Coast general manager Pip Close said the publicity the region had secured this week, including Sunrise weatherman Grant Denyer broadcasting from Hervey Bay and Fraser Island from Tuesday to Friday, was hugely significant.

She said it would play a key role in attracting visitors back to the region in both the short and long term.

“Businesses have been doing it tough across the region since the recent flooding – and now that the recovery efforts are well underway it is important to show that we are open for business as a region and the Fraser Coast is a fantastic destination for a holiday,” Ms Close said.

“We have been extremely fortunate to secure this publicity, and to have this level of exposure through both Sunrise and The Project in the space of two weeks is a massive coup for the region.”
